17 Weeks

We had another doctors appointment and the baby is still healthy. Great news! But the most exciting news was that we found out the gender! At only 17 weeks, (3 weeks earlier than normal) we have a baby BOY! There's always the possiblilty that the doctor was wrong but I saw the ultrasound too and it was hard to mistake. Paul and I are both excited about the news, but I am sad that I will have to take back the cute little gril clothes I bought last week. My mom came to the appointment also, I think she liked seeing the little tyke move around. Being pregnant is really such a miracle and I feel so blessed to be trusted with one of God's children.

This is a picture of his legs from the knee down. We didn't get very many clear pictures this time, so this was one of the best. I like to see his little toes and legs.

There's his little wee wee, in between the two big bum cheeks. Proof to all. :)

After the appointment Paul and I took a road trip to the Manti Temple. It was absolutely gorgeous! The roads on the other hand were horrible. We spun around on the road once but we were lucky enough to not hit any poles or cars. And there were a couple of cars that helped us get out of the bank we got stuck in.

This is what Paul and I did most of Christmas week. His neices and nephews got Rock Band for christmas. And we rocked out!

Birthday/Christmas/Baptism Parties

On sunday my niece anna beth clark turned 8 and was baptized. My brother sam performed the ordinances, I have always looked up to my older brother and am proud of the way he has raised his children. I had the opportunity to give a talk about baptism, it was the first talk I have given since the round of talks after my mission. I have learned to enjoy giving talks, even if I still get a little nervous talking to a group. I read the covenant of baptism from mosiah 18 and then gave her a white baptism bag with little things to remind her to keep the commandments and things, thanks rhonda for the idea!
Monday night we had a birthday/christmas party at my moms house. We celebrated anna'a birthday(8), Becca's birthday(6) and celeste's birthday(4), becca's birthday is on the 26th and celeste's is jan 13. I cant believe how old they are getting, they are so darn cute. After the kids opened their presents we had a nice dinner, ribs and salad yum!!! After dinner we had a special vistor, Santa showed up with presents for everyone. He brought us all some new pj's, we'll take a picture on christmas in them and post it so you can see how cute they are. We played with game true colors with my brother Jason and his wife Kristy, it was so much fun. There were a few questions that made amelia blush, you'll have to ask her about it cause i'm sure I would be in trouble if I posted them. It was nice to spend time with my family, I wish we could visit more often then we do. I am so grateful for my family and all they have done for me in my life, I love you. I am grateful for the knowledge that we can be together forever as a family with our heavenly father. I cant wait to get there and meet the rest of my family that I never knew.

Here is a picture of the 3 birthday girls when they came and spent the night at our house earlier this year. Happy Birthday Girls

Final Grades are in...

This semester was a pretty hard challenge for me, I was taking human anatomy and human physiology, along with two other classes. Thanks to my good wife I always had time to study for all my classes. I ended up getting a A in physiology and a B in anatomy, I couldnt believe I pulled such good grades in those classes. I ended up with a 3.6 GPA this semester, which is the highest that I have ever recieved at college. I dont know if we already wrote about this but during the semester we decided that I should not go into athletic training anymore, but that I should become a physcial therapist. So I now doing the athletic therapy program here at weber and will finish that spring of 2011, so just a few more semesters. Then after that I will go on to PT school, which is a 3 year doctorate degree. We will most likely have to move out of state for PT school, but we both think that will be a good experience for us. Amelia also had a great semester, she got a 3.9, she was upset with her A- but I think she will accept a 3.9 . I am so proud of her for getting such good grades, she is such a wonderful woman. She will also graduate spring of 2011 with a degree in Human Performance(exercise science), so I guess that means she can work while I go to grad school :) We are already enjoying our christmas break, its nice to stay up late and sleep in every morning. Three weeks off of school will provide enough time for us to re energize for the next semester, and hopefully we will get the same result with our grades!

'Tis the Season

It sure is the season to be jolly! I couldn't ask for a better husband and soon to be baby. Paul has been so good to me, he does the dishes more than I do, and is always making dinner or lunch when I am constantly complaining that there is nothing to eat in our scarce little fridge. He has taken his two hardest finals now and has been so great all semester to study dillegently for both Anatomy and Physiology. I'm so proud and thankful for his hard work. Though I feel like Paul and I are at a difficult time, I couldn't be more thankful and happy for my wonderful life right now. Paul brightens my pessimistic mood everyday! Thank you! I love you Paul!

On Monday night Paul and I decorated our Christmas tree and put a few other decorations up that I borrowed from my mom (we only have a few of our own). We don't have any gifts under there yet except a couple of onesies I bought for our little one. I like to take them out and look at them often because they are so cute and little! We are both so excited to have a little baby of our own. The other day Paul said he was excited for the hospital when I would be sleeping and it would be just him and the baby, when and he could hold it for as long as he wanted. It was sweet to hear him say that. I might just pretend to be asleep so I can watch him cradle our new baby.

13 Weeks

Paul and I went to the doctor again today for a check up. Good news, the baby is still growing just right and it likes to squirm. It was so amazing to see, I will never get sick of watching my baby inside my tummy, being pregnant has been such a great experience so far. The baby has almost tripled in size, it's now about 6.5 cm (3 inches) and has longer arms and legs than before. The vital organs have formed and from here on out it just needs to gain weight and grow. In two weeks the baby will start to hear (probably mostly my heart beat and breathing, but maybe my voice too). Paul and I got to see the face, you can see the eyes, mouth and nose in the picture of the ultrasound, but I know it is difficult to see (taking a picture of a picture is hard). The doctor bet $2 it was a girl, but he wasn't willing to bet more than two bucks so I wouldn't be too confident in him yet. If we are lucky in four weeks at the next visit we'll be able to tell the sex, but we may have to wait longer.

I actually haven't gained any weight since last month (that's good). But from here on out I should gain about 1/2 lb. a week. So next month I should actually look pregnant not fat.

Twilight and Turkey Bowl

We had a pretty busy weekend. On Saturday morning we went to our wards annual Turkey Bowl. It was a lot of fun to get out there and play some real football. My team won, but that was to be expected with me on the team! My body is not what it used to be though,I'm alot slower and I cant jump very high, but we still managed to pull out a W. Since the game I have been in alot of pain, I could barely move the next day, I guess it shows how often I go to the gym.
Saturday afternoon my cousin Hillary Anderson got married. I really enjoy going to weddings, its just a great atomsphere. She looked beautiful and happy, we wish you the best of luck Hill. After the reception Amelia and I split up, she went with the girls to see twilight and the boys and I went to watch The Blind Side.
Sunday we listened to two of Amelia's friends report on their missions. They are twins and both served in Brazil. Amelia says they are still they same boys she knew when she was young, but they have become much closer to the Lord and have really grown up. It was really fun for her to see them again.

5 down, a lot more to go!

Amelia and I went to the Ogden temple last night. It was the first time that we have been to that temple since we moved here. It is the 5th temple that we have attended together, hopefully that number will grow as time goes on. It had been around two or so months since we had been to the temple and it was so nice to go back. I always have the most peaceful feelings in the temple, I wish that feeling was always with me. The temple has had a great impact on me and Amelia, it was there when Amelia first started to fall in love with me :) After a nice romantic dinner and watching people and the institute we decided to go for a walk, We decided the temple grounds would be a nice destination. When we arrived at the Logan temple we went over to the fountain where we could sit and talk. I do not remember what I was saying, but whatever it was Amelia could not stop laughing. Occasionally I would go in for a kiss and she would start giggling and it wouldn't be the smoothest kisses we have shared. All the old people that came out of temple would stare at us and smile, they were probably reminded of their young courting days. Amelia kept saying how she really liked me(she was too scared to say I love you at this point). To date, this is still one of our most fondest memories in our relationship. Though there was nothing spectacular planned for the date, it turned out to be something that neither of us will forget. Hurray for the temple!!!!

What's cookin'?

A BABY!!! I'm 9 weeks pregnant, Paul and I are SO excited! We had our first ultrasound yesterday and our little baby has already developed some mucsle, it even did a little dance for us. It was so amazing to see, we even got to see the heart beating. In four weeks when we go again we'll actually get to hear the heartbeat. I'm due June 7th and we'll find out the gender about the middle of January (too bad that's right after christmas;)
I just took a picture of the ultrasound so I hope you can pick the baby out, it has a big head and little circles as arms and legs, on the upper left part of the picture. It looks like a little teddy grahm.

I realize that my tummy is not that big because of the baby...more likely my weight gain, unfortunately. I'm constantly hungry and our groceries are going quick. I haven't even been sick which is great!

Happy Halloween

For Family Home Evening last night Paul and I carved pumpkins. I will never again buy pumpkins at Macey's, they were SO expensive! We didn't have any patterns so give us a break, it was all free hand. We had fun, but I didn't realize Paul was such a pretty boy. He didn't want to get his hands dirty and touch the slimey stuff inside! That's my favorite part! Although we doubt we will have any trick-or-treaters we bought some candy for anyone that might come. If they don't, I'd be happy to eat all of our tootsie rolls and suckers. :)
Paul's mom finally got home from the hospital after a 3 week stay. She is doing much better and now she can really focus on getting physical therapy and getting her knee moving to wear she can walk well. Keep her in your prayers.

A fun filled weekend

Last night Paul and I went to the Utah Grizzlies Hockey game with my brother Tanner and my dad. In the first two minutes there was a fight, typical. Unfortunately the Grizzlies lost 3-5, but at least Paul and Tanner had a lot of fun cheering on the fights and cheering. On the other hand my dad and I were a little bored, and we were reminded why we don't go to hockey games much. The best part of the night was that my foot and leg got on KSL news! There was a cute little girl in front of us that was shown on the news and my leg got on too! If you want my autograph later, just ask. Paul also got on the Jumbo screen, so we are both pretty famous now.
On Friday, Weber State had a "late night at the gym" with all sorts of games, black light rock climbing and pumpkin carving. Cody, Sherise, Tanner and a few of my friends came up and we formed a dodgeball team for a tournament. Yes, we lost, but we had fun doing it and now Paul and I are super sore! We are such whimps! We also did the rock climbing wall and volleyball, it was a lot of fun.

Finally of age

Yesterday was Amelia's 21st birthday. She wanted to go out to a bar but I wouldn't let her! She laid in bed most of day with a bad migraine, but it eventually it went away and we were able to have some fun. I bought her some roses and a giant candy bar, the real present I bought is suppose to be delivered today so I had to improvise. We went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse, their rolls and butter and are the best ever. I'm proud to say I did not watch the football or baseball games that were on all the tv's around us :) After dinner Kelsey and Megan came over to have some funfetti cake and they gave her a picture frame with a cute saying in it.
On saturday we were out in Grantsville visiting a friend in from out of town, it was good to see him. we also went and carved pumpkins with my cousin Shaun and his wife Emily, our's was declared the better of the two by Shaun's grandma!

Ankle Taping

I realized it had been quite awhile since we posted anything, so here is the update in our lives. Amelia has been so kind to let me pratice my tapping techniques on her. I am not very good at this point and it takes me a little while to do each one. The tape job in the picture is my best one so far, so I had to take of picture on my accompishment. I really like my athletic training class this semester, I really hope I get accepted into the program next month when I apply. Amelia really likes her job at gymboree, she comes home and tells me about all the cute babies that come into the store. This past week my mom had surgery on her knee and she had some complications during surgery. She was in ICU for six days, and just barely got taken out yesterday. My dad has been by her side as much as he possibly can, and the doctors say it has helped to have someone with her all the time. Hopefully she will recover fast and be out of the hospital by the weekend. Keep her in your prayers!

First day on the job

So I finally started my refing job this week. I will only be working about 10-15 hours a week this semester, due to my hard schedule. So once again Amelia will be the bread winner in our house, one day I hope to make more money then she does. I actually had fun being a ref today,I got to meet to knew people and make some new friends. I even ran into someone I knew from high school(which never happens at Weber State). Amelia finally heard back from some of the applications she turned in. She was hired on at Gymboree, it is a baby clothing store from what I know. She is really excited to work with babies and expecting mothers. I think it is only going to her more baby hungry then she already is. The past couple of weekends she has been working for the Faddis', taking care of their severly handicapped son. Amelia is really enjoying her classes this fall, she is learning how to teach areobics so she can do it on the side when we have kids! Last weekend we went to Grantsville for the Johnson family reunion, my mother's side of the family. I rarely see my uncle dean and his family so it was nice to hang out and talk with them. We played some balloon volleyball and it was funny to watch people struggle to fling a little balloon over a net. Other then that not much has happened in our lives lately, hopefully we'll have something more exciting to report in the future.

And she's off...

Two days ago, I got a text from my sister telling me she was eloping the Thursday, Aug,27 at 5. So if I could make it she would be happy. I was shocked, but knew she was serious. The next 24 hours after that were a bit crazy for my mom, Shara (my sister) and her fiance. But they made it work. Yesterday the most of the family (including my sister from Arizona, and her youngest baby) were able to make it to the wedding. It turned out beautiful. Thanks to my mom's friends from the ward and others. I hadn't seen my, now, brother-in-law look at Shara with such care as I did during the ceremony, it was tender and sweet to witness. They are now happily on their honeymoon in Park City. Good luck Shara and Jason!! We love you!

Summer is over

I cant believe summer has come and gone already, it feels like it just began. We are both excited and scared to be going to a new school this year, not to fond on the purple of weber state just yet. For our last weekend of summer we went up to bear lake and stayed in uncle Robin's cabin. We let Tanner tag along with us to keep us inline :) We went out on the wave runner for a few hours, it would barely move with all three of us on it so we had to take turns. Tanner took a spill going 40 so he was all funned out after that. It was nice to sit and relax at the cabin, we just watched movies and played games. Its the same thing we do everyday but at a different location which makes it all the better. We still dont have jobs yet, we have gotten a couple call backs but not many. I had the weirdest interview with pacsun the other day. They took six of us outside and asked what kind of animal we wish we could be and if we had one wish what would it be,that was the extent of the interview. I'm really hoping to get this job at the school being a ref for all intermural sports. I have a tough semester so i want a job that I'll enjoy and not have to work too hard, so this is perfect.

Quilting

Earlier this summer Amelia was really bored so she decided she would make a jean quilt. She has worked on it when she has had free time, and she will finish it today. For FHE went went to the Robertsons and got the family to help tie it. It took longer to get it on the stands then it did to actually tie it. I had never tied a quilt so everyone did twice what I did, but it was fun to be apart of it. And just for the record I picked out the yarn without having the back there and it matched perfectly! I'm really proud of my wife for doing this quilt, she is amazing.

High Adventure

Today Paul and I went to Causey Dam, near Pine View. Our ward was supposed to have an activity up there but it must have been cancelled and we didn't get the memo. But we had fun ourselves anyways. We did some cliff jumping, and swimming in the cold water. As usual it took me a long time to take my first jump off the cliff, I'd count to three, then chicken out and count to three again, after many counts to three I finally jumped. Paul was a brave man, jumping multiple times and going on the higher cliffs. The water was really cold, but we enjoyed our time out there having some high adventure.

Moving is no fun

So this is our first blog, we thought we would join the crowd and start one of these. We dont have it figured out yet, but give us some time. We are offically residents of Ogden Ut now. We were both really sad to leave logan, we love it up there. Our last night in Logan we took our mattress and threw it in the truck we were borrowing and went up to the dam. It was so pieceful up there untill Midnight when we were spotlighted by the police, and he informed us it was time to go home. We're all settled into our place, for the most part anyways. We both are looking for places to work, hopefully we find something soon. Its been enjoyable not to go to work though, it great to spend time together. We went to Raging Waters on monday, neither of us had been in years. We nearly drowned in the wave pool, and we alomost went over the side of the slides, but it was still a fun time.
