A cold one and some football

I havent gotten to watch many football games this year so I decided saturday I was going to stay awake after work and watch football with caleb. I went to the store and bought a cold one to enjoy as I watched the game..

I felt the after effects later..


ok ok I didnt really drink the beer, we used it in a awesome nacho dip we enjoyed during the game. This was caleb's first time watching football and he seemed to enjoy it, or maybe it was just the cool tv that he liked.

I picked out calebs outfit for the day, I think we are both dressed to watch some football.

It was Weber States homecoming this week and the school rented out the entire soloman center for the public to go and enjoy free bowling, games, rock climbing, and indoor surfing/body boarding. Shanlee and Tanner came up and enjoyed the free night out with us.





One last update. We have started to give caleb some solid foods. To date he has had peaches, applesauce, bananas, and a little ice-cream that his aunt salena sneaked into his mouth.

One day I hope to be like my parents: still in love, unwaivering, faithful, and happy.

Ready for the gym

So we have decided that for a graduation present to ourselves we are going to treat ourselves to a cruise. Neither of us has ever been on one before so we are really excited. Right now we are planning on going on the MEXICAN RIVERA trip. We want to go on a 7 day on but not sure if our bank account will allow it so it might only be a 4 day one. If we only do a 4 day cruise than we are going to spend an extra day or two in Los Angeles, where we will do some deep sea fishing(it is my only stipulation for us going on this trip).
Deciding to take this trip along with my schooling has given me the motivation to lose my fat belly that I have been working on since we got married. We have started to hit the gym alot more and have been diligent about what and how much we are eating. Caleb tags along with us at the gym, he just sits in his carseat and looks at the girls working out by him :)( his mom mostly, hubba hubba)

Busy bees

Finally I have a minute to update. School has started and we are busy busy bees. buzzzz buzzz We finished our summer with a 3 day trip to Lava Hot Springs where we unexpectedly met Jason and his family and Paul's parents for a day at the pool. It was a blast, but Caleb didn't like the cold water. Paul is VERY proud of himself because he jumped from the highest platform, somehow he talked his nephew, Austin, into jumping with him. I only got as far as the 2nd one and I had had my adrenaline rush for the day.

I quit my job so I could stay home with Caleb as much as possible in between classes. It's been great not to have to work. Paul and I started classes last Monday and it's been go go go since then. I take Caleb to my mom's most days of the week and she graciously takes her little grandson. Then it's off to classes for both Paul and I (17 credits each this semester). Paul is also preparing to take the GRE for graduate school and looking into a few schools to apply for, if you have study tips for the GRE let him know.

Paul had been looking forward to tomato season for months so he could have his mom teach him how to can pizza sauce. It turned out great!

Caleb was blessed with 2 new cousins this past month: My sister Miranda gave birth to Taylor Ellen Jackman, and my Sister-in-law Sherise had Samuel Enoch Robertson. Both beautiful healthy babies.

Caleb is growing like a weed! He was last weight 3 weeks ago and he was 13 lbs. 4 oz. and 24 inches long, that's the size of an average 4 month old!!! Paul and I love to listen to him giggle and he's not shy to share his smiles.

Happy Pioneer Day!

We went to the Days of 47 Rodeo last week, it was a lot of fun. We hadn't been to a rodeo for a long time. We got 3rd row tickets and we could smell the horse sweat...mmmm

Home from church. Paul went in the bedroom to change Caleb's diaper, I came in a few minutes later to find them like this. We did some fireworks but Caleb slept through every pop, snap and crackle. Caleb smiled for the first time at me about a week ago. It's so fun to see that he express' pleasure and happiness. Sometimes in his sleep he will smile and even let out a little giggle sounds. So cute!

A Day in the Life of Amelia and Caleb

Many of you mothers reading this know what it's like to have a baby, but for me, this is a new experience.
7:00am FEED THE BABY
8:00am Back to bed for us both.
10:00am FEED THE BABY
11:00am I try to shower, Caleb loves sitting in his bouncy chair in the bathroom and listening to the fan and water.
1:00pm FEED THE BABY
2:00pm Finally I'm ready for the day, now I try to get some work done: cleaning, dishes, projects that have been waiting for a long time to be finished...
4:00pm FEED THE BABY
5:00pm If Caleb will sleep I get to take a nap, if not, I'm continually putting his binky back in his mouth to try to get him to sleep.
7:00pm FEED THE BABY (by this time Paul has usually made dinner, he's so great!)
8:00pm I'm tired but this is my time to be with Paul before he goes to work, and Caleb is usually awake and happy.
10:00pm FEED THE BABY
10-12pm Caleb's fussy time, I'm exhausted.
Finally he sleeps
4:00am FEED THE BABY
...and it starts all over again. I figured it out and I spend 8 hours a day feeding Caleb, that's like a full time job! Too bad I'm not getting paid for it. But he will be one healthy, well fed kid. I love being a mom!!

Running my life...

I'm finally taking some time to sit down and write a little on the blog. I think Paul, Caleb and I have finally adjusted to our new life as a family of three. Caleb is such a joy to have. Since week 2 Caleb has been sleeping 5-7 hours at night, it's so great! I love being a mom, it's crazy how much love I have for Caleb when we've only known each other for such a short time. I hate thinking about him ever getting hurt, but unfortunately there is no way for me to stop that from happening. There is no more being spontaneous, everything has to be planned around Caleb's eating and nap times. He runs our lives. We now have a pretty good schedule for him though so it makes planning a grocery trip a little easier and we were even able to go shopping for a few hours the other day (I don't fit into my pre pregnancy clothes anymore). I'm feeling much better now and I can occasionally make it through the day without a nap.
We had a great 4th of July in Grantsville. I went down to watch the parade with the famliy and Paul came after he got off work. July 4th is one of Paul's favorite holidays so he wasn't about to miss out on anything, which means he only slept 2 hours in over 48 hours. He is crazy, but somehow he pulls it off. Later in the day we had a BBQ and played some volleyball. It was great to be with family. Caleb was never set down, he was constantly held by cousins, aunts, uncles, grandma and grandpa. He loved it.
Salena got us all Old Navy flag shirts, it's fun to be matching. Even Caleb got a cute little 4th of July onsie.

We love our nap time!

Maxwell enjoyed sitting in Caleb's carseat and pretending to be the baby. We put Caleb on Max's lap and he put his arms around Caleb, he loved having him on his lap. When we took Caleb off Max started crying and stretching his arms toward Caleb and saying "Baby! Baby!"

A Mysterious Package

This past week the UPS man delivered this mysterious looking package to our door. It was wrapped in duck tape, Which I have learned as a security guard to be super cautious if you see a package like this. I was weary to open it, I thought it might blow our house to kingdom kong. I put it to my ear to see if it was ticking or anything like that. In the end I finally opened it and it was a cute dinosaur blanket for Caleb. It was sent to us from the Bingham family from Ohio, Bro Bingham was my ward mission leader for a few transfers on my mission. I love the Binghams, they are such a great family, thank you so much for the blanket Sis Bingham.
